Group Visits to the Library

We are happy to receive bookings from both general and special interest groups. We would particularly like to encourage parish visits, so that the diocese as a whole has a greater sense of the rich heritage that the Church has in the collections within the cathedral's care.

Group visits usually consist of tours of the Library, including the architectural splendours of the former monastic Refectory and Dormitory, and/or a special display of books and manuscripts. The Library's historical collections are especially rich in medieval illuminated manuscripts and illustrated printed books, but many of our less glamorous items can be equally fascinating.

A small charge is made as a contribution towards the preservation of the Library's collections.
