Photographic Services

The Library's photographic service has a stock of several hundred microfilms, over 2500 colour transparencies and about 5000 black & white negatives, mainly of the buildings and possessions of the cathedral. Many of the colour transparencies show details of manuscripts in the Library. Some of the black & white negatives are of historic interest, showing general views and details of the cathedral buildings from the late 19th century onwards. All images can be supplied digitally on CD.

New photography can also be arranged.

Orders

Microfilms, digital images on CD, colour transparencies and black & white prints may be ordered (but note that the Library may decline to photograph some material for reasons of fragility, copyright, etc.). Estimates of cost will be supplied on request. Permission must be sought for the publication of any of these images, and usually a reproduction fee will be charged.
