Support Durham Cathedral

“I love the peace and beauty which wraps itself around one on entering”

Durham Cathedral is one of the nation's best loved buildings and has been at the heart of the community in Durham for over 900 years.

The Cathedral brings people together every day of the year, providing a welcoming space for spiritual reflection, music, art, historical discovery, learning, friendship and community.

To care for this magnificent Cathedral and fulfill its mission is challenging.  On average it costs £60,000 a week to fund this work, but unlike museums we don't receive any regular government funding. Instead, it is the generosity of our congregation, volunteers, supporters and visitors who help us to ensure the Cathedral remains open and free to all those who come to visit.
