Durham Cathedral is one of the nation’s best-loved buildings and has been at the heart of the community in Durham for over 900 years.

Securing the Future

To ensure the Cathedral continues to make a positive and lasting contribution to the spiritual, cultural and economic life of Durham, the North East and the country, we have launched a Development Programme to raise much-needed funds to support priority areas of the Cathedral’s mission and engagement.

Over the next five years, we hope to raise £7 million to support a range of exciting projects including those which protect our heritage, enhance the experience of visitors, promote creativity and learning, and encourage the coming together of communities.
