The heart of the Cathedral Community

The Cathedral Community includes worshippers, staff and volunteers and we play different parts in the Cathedral’s life but it can perhaps be summed up by saying that together we are here to pray, proclaim the gospel and keep the Cathedral open for all who come here.

Anyone over the age of sixteen who worships regularly in the Cathedral, or is engaged in work or service connected with the Cathedral, is entitled to join. You can be a member of the Electoral Roll at your local place of worship at the same time as being on the Cathedral Community Roll.

Durham Cathedral is inviting it's Community Roll members to re-register for the 2018-23 Community Roll. The Cathedral Statutes require a new Community Roll every six years so we cannot automatically roll names forward. The new registration form is available to download below and to collect from the Visitor Desk inside the Cathedral.

As part of this process of renewing your participation in the Cathedral community, may we encourage you to take the opportunity to review your participation in the financial support of the Cathedral. Should you wish to speak in more detail about your financial contribution please contact Sophia Stovall, Relationship & Development Manager on 0191 374 4055. If you will not be reregistering but would like to continue your support and stay in touch with the Cathedral, please speak to Sophia who will be more than happy to walk you through the options available.
