Durham Cathedral's social network for alumni of The Chorister School

Former choristers of Durham Cathedral and students of The Chorister School maintain lifelong friendships through the Durham Cathedral Old Choristers' Association (DCOCA). The Association, whose work is supported by the Master of the Choristers and Organist and the Headmaster, is an important link for former students of The Chorister School to the Cathedral and School.  Events include an all-day annual reunion at The Chorister School. The day includes an AGM, a Young Person's Forum, Choral Evensong sung by DCOCA members alongside the current Cathedral Choir, followed by evening dinner.

DCOCA funds are regularly donated to The Chorister School and Cathedral Choir to support their musical activities.  It recently purchased music, instruments, staging and recording equipment and it contributed to the cost of the Cathedral Choir's tour to Versailles in 2008.  In 2009 it supported the cost of expanding the Cathedral Choir to include a girls’ treble line.

The DCOCA is a member of the National Federation of Old Choristers' Associations. In 2005 it hosted a very successful festival attended by almost 200 members from all over the UK, and from as far away as Australia.

Membership of DCOCA is open and free of charge to all former Chorister School students until they reach the age of 22, and thereafter £10 annually.  It can be contacted at DCOCA, The Cathedral Office, The College, Durham DH1 3EH.
