The Cathedral works with around 23,000 children and young people per year. We have a dedicated staff and a team of experienced volunteers (many of whom are retired teachers).

Our aim is to provide activities and resources that support RE and the National Curriculum. We employ methods and hands-on activities using the Cathedral as a unique educational resource that cannot be replicated in the classroom. We now offer education sessions on the Woodlands and Riverbanks.

Education sessions on the Woodlands and Riverbanks will vary depending on the age of the children but will include wildlife investigation, habitat recognition, orienteering and team building, survey work on plants and animals, art, literacy, geology, maths, geography and more.

Volunteering opportunities for this role will be advertised on the main volunteering page when they arise.
