The Homecoming features Alistair Anderson’s A Lindisfarne Gospel suite, with a new movement for Northumbrian pipes specially commissioned for the festival and inspired by the journey of St Cuthbert’s body from Holy Island to Durham.
The programme continues with Bold As Brass, a celebration of ten years of collaborations between the Wilson Family and Easington Colliery Brass Band. This will feature pieces from the festival's commissioned shows, which were a particular highlight of Hartlepool Folk Festival.
The Sharon Shannon band headline the Durham Folk Festival and will close the evening.
