Epiphany Procession

Sunday 18 January 2026 3:30pm

During the Epiphany season Durham Cathedral holds an Epiphany Procession service.

The service focuses on key moments in which Jesus was revealed as the Son of God: the visit of the Magi, Christ’s baptism, and the turning of water into wine. The procession of the choir and clergy around the cathedral dramatically recalls the journey of the Magi ‘from the East’, as they came to offer worship to Jesus.

Incense is used at this service.
