Calling all students! On Tuesday 15 October we’re opening our doors after dark to warmly welcome new students to Durham City. Get to know the cathedral at the heart of your bustling city.
Drop in between 6.30pm and 8.45pm to experience Durham Cathedral at night and explore the 1000 year old building.
Wander through the cloisters at dusk and for Harry Potter fans, see the Chapter House which was used as Professor McGonagall’s classroom in the first two blockbuster films.
There's no need to book – just turn up and bring your friends. This is your cathedral and you are always very welcome here.
The night will end with a peaceful and reflective compline service, ending at 8.45pm to which students of all faiths and none are very welcome.
