To commemorate the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, Durham Cathedral will be hosting three talks exploring the theology of Nicaea.
The Council of Nicaea is the first Ecumenical Council of the Undivided Church, whose affirmation of the full divinity of Jesus Christ led to the formulation of the Nicene Creed.
After Choral Evensong in the Quire, these talks are given by The Reverend Canon Professor Simon Oliver, the Van Mildert Professor of Divinity at Durham University. Each talk will be 30 minutes, and there will be time for a short Q&A afterwards. These talks will be livestreamed on Durham Cathedral's YouTube channel.
