The Cathedral Choristers provide the treble line of the Cathedral Choir.

There are two sets of Choristers, the boys and the girls. Choristers typically join the Cathedral Choir between the ages of seven and nine, and remain until the age of 13. There are usually around 18 boys and around 18 girls. No experience is necessary, just a love of singing and an enthusiasm to be part of a successful team.

The Choristers are educated at The Chorister School, which is part of Durham Cathedral, with fees part-funded by the Cathedral Chapter. Further means tested financial support can be provided.
