Durham Cathedral are seeking to recruit a HR Administrator, providing a wide range of administrative support to the HR Department.

Job Description

People are central to everything that we do at Durham Cathedral. The role of HR Administrator will be responsible for providing a wide range of administrative support to the HR Department and in doing so, support the Head of Human Resources in the overall provision of an effective, customer focused HR service.

The post holder will work collaboratively and in partnership with colleagues across all departments.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Provision of a welcoming and efficient HR administration service.
  • Administration for people onboarding and offboarding, including recruitment, arranging interviews, conducting pre-employment and ID Checks, processing leaver information.
  • Drafting of job offers, contracts of employment, job descriptions, changes of staff terms and conditions and leaver administration for review by the Head of Human Resources.
  • Accurate data input into manual and computerised HR systems.
  • Updating HR records and production of reports including HR metrics.
  • Raising Purchase Orders, booking training courses and maintaining training records.
  • Supporting management with staff onboarding and induction programmes.
  • Note taking at formal meetings, as and when required.
  • Supporting the wider HR team with administration on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Supporting the Head of Human Resources with the successful delivery of HR initiatives and projects.

Any other duties as may be reasonably required as agreed with the post-holder’s line manager.
