This Joyous Night

Durham Choral Society open the Durham Vocal Festival 2020 with a performance of “This Joyous Night” by local composer Alan Woods, a work commissioned in 1999 by the John Lewis Partnership’s Music Society. The concert also features the ever popular Fauré Requiem. The choir will be joined by the Durham Music Service Youth Choir and accompanied by members of the Cavendish Ensemble, the Music Society’s Orchestra.



The soloists are Sir Thomas Allen (Baritone) and Elizabeth Woods (Soprano) and the orchestra will be conducted by Manvinder Rattan, Musical Director-John Lewis Partnership and Michael Summers, Durham Choral Society.

Tickets £20 and £15 plus student and young people’s concessions from, Gala Theatre Box Office. or
