Capturing the moon: Matt Robinson talks astrophotography

Saturday 2 October at 7:00 PM

Join Matt Robinson, a local professional astrophotographer and science communicator, under Luke Jerram's Museum of the Moon to talk about all things astronomical.

Matt Robinson is a professional astrophotographer and science communicator from Sunderland who brings his inspiring story to Durham Cathedral’s Museum of the Moon events programme. His astronomy adventure started in Northumberland, he has then gone on to work in the depths of the Arctic Circle underneath the northern lights, in Chile capturing an unforgeable total solar eclipse, and most recently in the Maldives where he worked as a personal astronomer for Hollywood stars. Drinks will be available to purchase at this event.

This autumn, see Durham Cathedral in a whole new light as Luke Jerram's Museum of the Moon illuminates the nave. The seven-metre diameter moon installation will give the high vaulted ceiling and colossal carved columns a glow up like you've never seen before.
