Saintly Sisters

22 December 2017
Tuesday 28 November - Saturday 3 February 2018

This exhibition focuses on the lives and legacies of female saints with a particular link to Durham or the North; well-known figures such as St Hild and St Margaret, but also some who are today less well-known, such as St Osana and St Ebbe.

Find out who these women were, how they came to be saints, and why they were so highly regarded across the region.  The exhibition also explores the significance of these saints to female medieval pilgrims, and the continuing pilgrimage tradition at Durham Cathedral.
