In collaboration with Durham University, we offer music scholarships for students.

Choral Scholarships

The Chapter of Durham Cathedral are in the position to offer choral scholarships to students who gain a place at Durham University.

Conditions of a choral scholarship

It is generally not possible to combine the duties of a Choral Scholar with certain academic subjects like the Sciences and Social Sciences which involve laboratory work so please check your likely timetable before applying. The scholarship is only valid while the holder retains their Durham University place.

Candidates must be academically equipped to follow their chosen course of study. Those who seem unlikely to meet the University's academic requirements for admission will not be accepted as candidates for a Choral Scholarship.

How to apply

Applications are now open for Choral Scholarships starting in October 2022. We have vacancies for two altos and two tenors.

If you would like to apply, please fill in the application form below and return it to Rebecca Dodd on music@durhamcathedral.co.uk.
