Location: Durham Cathedral
Contract: Permanent
Salary: c. £50,000 per annum
Hours: The normal weekly timetable is as follows, (subject to review): 37.5 hours per week

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior visitor/customer experience professional to lead all visitor experience and commercial activity at Durham Cathedral.  

 

The Visitor Experience & Enterprise Director will have overall strategic responsibility for delivering an exceptional experience for all visitors to Durham Cathedral.  

 

This newly created role will provide inspirational leadership to a new Visitor Experience and Enterprise team, which brings together five of the cathedral’s visitor facing departments, namely: Visitor Services; Education, Learning & Outreach; Open Treasure (the Cathedral’s Museum); Events; Travel Trade & Group; Venue Hire and the Cathedral’s retail offer. 

 

As a senior leader the post holder will contribute to the wider strategy, commercial development, business planning and overall success of the Cathedral, working in partnership with stakeholders at all levels.

 

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work in an ambitious, highly skilled and dedicated team; leading change and collaboration with teams across the Cathedral and ensuring all visitors to Durham Cathedral receive an exceptional experience.
