The Chapter is the cathedral's governing body which provides strategic leadership and direction for the cathedral. This is an exciting opportunity for two people to play a key part in the life of a vibrant and historic centre of Christian worship, at a strategic moment in its development.
Guy Sampson, Chief Operating Officer at Durham Cathedral says,

In looking for two new members we're hoping to attract dynamic people who can support us in this next stage and we are especially keen to receive applications from those who would enhance the diversity of Chapter to further enhance the quality of our discussions and decisions."
As a member of Chapter duties include; Trustee responsibility for governance, leadership and strategic direction and oversight of the administration of the cathedral’s affairs as well as a commitment to collective decision-making.
In addition to bringing expertise and insights from their professional experience elsewhere, members of Chapter also have involvement as an Honorary Canon in the worshipping and ceremonial life of the cathedral.
