What is this online quiet day about?
Durham Cathedral runs Online Quiet Days every two months to encourage people to explore their own spiritual journey, and think deeply about issues and themes that affect us all. This event took place entirely online.
The day’s first reflection was given by Anglican priest and author, Gavin Wakefield. Gavin has taught about the Northern Saints and his new book, Northern Saints in Holy Places: A Pilgrim's Guide to North East England, will be published later in the year.
Following Gavin's introduction, Catherine Askew, the leader of the Northumbria Community, reflected personally on the ways in which prayer in the Celtic tradition informs her everyday life.
