Bishop Frank welcomed the people and introduced the service, and then Revd Canon Jane Maycock was presented by the Revd Canon Michael Hampel, before Jane made a declaration and oaths according to law.
The Dean of Durham, the Very Revd Dr Philip Plyming, led Jane to her stall and formally installed her, before both saying the Lord's Prayer. Jane read the first lesson of the service, Zechariah 4: 1-10.
A small ceremony was attended by Jane Maycock, Bishop Frank and the College of Canons, where Canon Maycock made a declaration and was presented with a key to the cathedral. Congratulations to Jane for becoming Residentiary Canon and Member of Chapter of Durham Cathedral.
