A warm space for all this Winter

This winter, the Chapter House is open to provide warmth to those who may need it.

Providing a place of warmth

With the ongoing cost of living crisis and the rapid increase of gas and electric prices, the Chapter House is open as part of the national Warm Spaces Initiative.

The Chapter House, located just off the cathedral Cloisters, is open to all, providing a warm space to sit and relax.

What will this include?

  • Every Monday to Saturday, 10am - 4pm, people can wander into the Chapter House to sit in one of the warmest spaces in the cathedral.
  • Tables will be set up throughout the space and people are welcome to purchase a drink in the Undercroft Café and bring it to the Chapter House to enjoy.
  • Newspapers and board games will be available and all are welcome to sit, read, work or unwind in the space.

Further support

Chaplains are available in the cathedral from 10am daily and can provide support or a listening ear for those who want to express their worries and dilemmas .
