Calling all students! On Tuesday 13 October 2026 we’re opening our doors after dark to to give a warm welcome to new (and returning) students.
Stop by between 6.30pm and 9pm to experience the church floor for yourself. No tickets are needed. Just drop in!
Wander through the cloisters at dusk and for Harry Potter fans, see the Chapter House which was used as Professor McGonagall’s classroom in the first two blockbuster films. Visit the shop and stock up on books and study supplies.
Simply turn up and bring your friends. This is your cathedral and you are always very welcome here.
The night will end with a peaceful and reflective Compline service at 8.45pm to which students of all faiths and none are very welcome. Or join us earlier in the evening for Evensong at 5.30pm.
Student Tuesday:
Students are welcome at the cathedral anytime but we offer a particular welcome to students on Tuesdays at Evensong at 5.30pm followed by food and drink. Find out more here.
