Chief Operating Officer

As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Durham Cathedral, Guy has overall responsibility for the lay administration, non-liturgical governance and operations of the Cathedral.

Accountable to, and working closely with, the Dean, executive and non-executive members of the Chapter, Guy is the senior administrator in the Cathedral and is responsible to the Chapter for the administrative support and functionality and matters of statutory compliance across the Cathedral’s operation.

Background:

Guy was previously Director of Rural Management at Savills, one of the world’s leading property agents. In his role at Savills, Guy supported estate management projects at the cathedral and before joining the cathedral team in 2023, was familiar with many of the teams and operations.
