Chorister Experience

Saturday 24 September at 12:30 PM

Boys and girls in Years 2 – 6 are invited to spend a day finding out what it’s like to be a Cathedral Chorister.

If your child/a child within your care has a passion for singing and an interest in becoming one of our future choristers, come along to the Chorister Experience to find out more.

The children will have an opportunity to meet our current choristers, hear them sing and enjoy making music together as a group. There will also be craft activities, a chance to play the organ and a tour of the Cathedral. The programme for the day is designed to give first-hand experience of what it’s really like to be a young Chorister.

Schedule for the day:
12.30pm - Registration in the Cathedral's Chapter House.
12.50pm - Welcome
1.10pm - Choir practice
2.00pm - Craft activity, tour of the cathedral and organ playing activity
3.30pm - Break with a snack provided
4.15pm - Choir Practice in the Cathedral
5.30pm - Evensong

A separate schedule for parents and guardians will run alongside this.

The experience is free of charge, and all children in Years 2 - 6 and their parents/guardians are welcome. No previous experience is necessary, just a love of singing and lots of enthusiasm! Children are politely asked to come dressed in their school uniform please.
