Christmas Eve Midnight Eucharist

Friday 24 December at 11:00 PM

Celebrate the birth of Christ through prayer and the Eucharist, as Christmas Eve becomes Christmas Day.

All are welcome to join this joyful celebration.

This service will be live-streamed on Durham Cathedral’s Facebook page. You’ll be able to rewatch the service for three days after it’s first broadcast.

Please book a ticket in advance

If you’d like to attend this service, you must book a free ticket in advance.

Please ensure that all members of your party, including children, have a valid ticket to access this event. This is because we need to know how many people are inside the cathedral, and limit numbers in line with our COVID-19 risk assessments.

Keeping everybody safe

Please do not attend the event if you have any symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Upon entry to the cathedral, all visitors over the age of 18 must be prepared to show their NHS COVID Pass as proof of vaccination, a negative PCR or lateral flow test taken up to 48 hours before the event, or a positive PCR test from within the last 6 months.

We encourage visitors to wear a face covering in enclosed and crowded spaces where people come into contact with people they don’t normally meet.
