Major Vision 2033 milestone marks the completion of Cuthbert Centre for Pilgrimage and Prayer
Durham Cathedral has celebrated the completion of the Cuthbert Centre for Pilgrimage and Prayer with a special event on Friday 4 September, 2026.
From 7 to 11 October, escape into a journey through Time with light and sound projections illuminating Durham Cathedral’s centuries-old architecture. Journey through history, science and imagination, and follow a dramatic narrative throughout time.

The completion of the Cuthbert Centre for Pilgrimage and Prayer marks an important milestone in our long-term vision to strengthen pilgrimage, prayer and spiritual engagement in the North East and beyond.
Monday - Saturday 09:30am to 4:30pm
Sunday 12:00pm to 4:00pm
There is no admission charge to visit Durham Cathedral. We ask all our visitors to donate £5, if they are able, to support the cathedral's future.
