Morning Prayer is a said service with prayers, psalms and bible readings. We pray for God’s blessing for the day ahead, for the world and those in need. The service lasts around 30 minutes.

Easter holiday activities

See Durham Cathedral in LEGO®, pick up a activity leaflet to discover puzzles, colouring and learn about Holy Week and Easter or be part of a upcoming art installation and make a paper Peace Dove which will be added to the bigger installation in July 2024.

Discover more about the Durham Cathedral community, from the influence of St Cuthbert to the cathedral having a worldwide family, both past and present.

Holy Communion

12:30pm to 1:00pm

A service of prayers and Bible readings, in which we offer bread and wine to God in thanksgiving for his goodness to us, which we receive back as the body and blood of Christ. The service lasts around 30 minutes.

Evening Prayer is a said service with prayers, psalms and bible readings. We follow the service using the Book of Common Prayer of 1662 giving thanks for the day that has past. The service lasts around 20 minutes.

Sung Eucharist for the Annunciation of Our Lord to the Blessed Virgin Mary

5:30pm to 6:30pm

Come and take part as the congregation process to the Galilee Chapel to celebrate the announcement of the Angel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary that she will conceive Jesus Christ, with a Sung Eucharist.
