Durham Cathedral was built as a monastic house of prayer, and it is still informed by this Benedictine commitment to the life of prayer. Thankful for the many prayers offered in Durham Cathedral today, we want to develop the ways we support the learning and practice of prayer, resourcing people across the region and beyond.
This work will include:
- offering resources which help people pray for the first time or deepen their experience of prayer
- celebrating the gift of prayer and making it accessible to all through creative and engaging means
- providing dedicated and welcoming spaces which allow people to pray during their time at Durham Cathedral
- encouraging and nurturing the life of prayer for our Diocese and beyond, through onsite and online events and resources
